SNV-C / pin-point damage Monster
Hi Devils,
been kind of playing with the thought investing 15-16 mio cbill to set up this Supernova C build (see below).
Any suggestions ideas or experiences with this baby/ build?
2 x Heavy Large (weapon group 1)
4 x ER Medium (weapon group 1)
2 x Large Pulse Laser (weapon group 2)
Fire 1 and 2 slightly offset to prevent ghost heat.
Burn time should end simultaneously.
Thanks for your help and comment.
cheers, Bali
Bali,
I wouldn't suggest firing Lrg and Meds at the same time. It's a waste of Heat due to miss-matched ranges, definitely inefficient.
I don't have a -C, but I have a -1 (diff seems to be location of the energy hard-points, all mine are in the arms) and I have the following:
4 ER Lrg & 4 ER Med
2 Lrg on group 1, 2 Lrg on group 2, 2 Med on group 3, 2 Med on group 4 is how I break it up.
I can't do an alpha as it'd shut me down, but if I really wanted to, I could fire all 4 Lrg at once, which would ring me up to about 55-ish heat and still then fire all 4 Meds without shutting down, but I generally stagger fire each group to minimize heat/ghost-heat and still manage to do quite decently with the build.
In terms of location on the energy hard-points, there's pros/cons on all in the arms or spread between arms & torsos.
My thoughts are that I'm happier with all mine in the arms so that I can also bring all my firepower to bear further left/right than my max torso-twist if I'm having to chase around smaller mechs especially without having to leave off the torso mounted since they wouldn't be able to cut the angle.
Additionally, as far as thoughts go of losing all arm mounted weapons if an arm goes while still having torso mounted weapons... Most of your coordinated units are going to be concentrating on taking off the right-side torso as their primary target anyway... which means any torso-mounted weapons would also be lost so not a big-enough drawback to lead me (personally) to invest in the -C over the -1.
But... this is all just my opinions... and you know the saying about them... they're like butt-holes.... everyone has them LOL!
